    School Leaver Programme

This program is being developed for participants who have recently finished school and are looking for meaningful direction, practical skills and greater confidence as they move into the next stage of their lives. It will run three days a week, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a supportive one-to-three mentor-to-participant ratio.

We are excited to announce our plans to introduce a School Leaver Program in 2027.

The program will focus on building the skills and confidence needed for life after school, including:

    • Resume writing and interview preparation
    • Exploring career pathways
    • Transport training
    • Money management and budgeting
    • Developing independence and everyday life skills
    • Building confidence in new environments
    • Connecting with the community and developing friendships

As participants explore their interests and career goals, they will also take part in community engagement activities and outings. These experiences will help participants become more confident in their surroundings, develop social connections and build a stronger sense of belonging within their community.

We recognise that there is a significant gap for many school leavers within the disability sector. Moving from a structured school environment five days a week into a future with limited support or direction can be challenging for both participants and their families.

Our goal is not simply to fill this gap. We want to enhance participants’ lives by providing genuine opportunities, practical guidance and a clear pathway towards meaningful employment, further development or purposeful activities.

The School Leaver Program is currently in development, and we look forward to offering this service from 2027.
